Sephora Collection: Eye Look Book Review

SEPHORA COLLECTION : Eye Look Book

I really was on a mission to pick up an eye shadow palette since I only own a couple palettes. It was before Christmas, therefore I was on a budget and didn't want to spend too much. I stumbled on this set from the Sephora Collection and knew I "needed" to buy it. The 4 Eye Looks Book Set features 4 different palettes, each with 5 shadows tailored to create a specific look. I am going to discuss each book, show swatches with and without primer and tell you what I personally think of them.

                                                                The Nude Look
                                                                    Without primer

                                                                       With primer

The Nude Book was a little disappointing to say the least. The pigmentation was good, but when I went to blend the colors it made the eye look really muddy. I love nude looks, it's the main look I go for because it's perfect for work. I hate when nude colors don't work well together. That is just what these did. It was even hard for them to blend well. The pigmentation was there, but the blending aspect was a thumbs down.

                                                                The Party Book
                                                                Without primer

                                                                     With primer

The party palette has pretty colors and the payoff was decent. The purple shade wasn't as pigmented as I was hoping, but with a little of the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk will deepen the color out more. There wasn't too much fallout with this particular book. The colors blended ok with each other. I just had to blend with my blending brush a little longer than usually.

                                                               The Metallic Book
                                                                  Without primer

                                                                     With primer

AHHHH! What can I say about metallic eye shadows in general....is that I love them! You can always find me wearing metallic shades when going out for some cocktails or whatnot. When I seen a metallic book was in this set got me so excited. For the most part this book was the best out of the bunch. There was some major fallout with the gold shade and primer seem to make it worse. The other shades on the other hand were really good and blended well. After primer the bronze shade was out of this world! This was my favorite book out of the set by far!

                                                               The Smoky Book
                                                                Without primer

I didn't try out the smoky book. The smoky book was given to my sister since she loves smoky looks and not me so much. The photo of swatches was without primer and as you can tell the color payoff isn't so hot.  She did tell me the colors did wear off easily. So all the shades would be somewhat better with primer.

Overall, this set is NOT suitable for folks who are advanced in makeup. I do think this is good for those beginner gals. I just wasn't a fan strictly for pigmentation and how the eye shadow wore off fast, even with primer.

~ As always this post is strictly my personal opinion. My opinion may be different from another. ~
